A Manchester woman's in court later accused of stabbing a man in the eye with a stiletto heel. Staci Hargreaves who's 33 and from Stalybridge is charged with wounding after the alleged attack in a taxi in Huddersfield 2 weeks ago. Police say the stiletto went through the 28 year old Gavin Taylor's eye and touched his brain.
A teenage soldier from Stalybridge, who died in Afghanistan last weekend - might've been killed by friendly fire. It's what the MOD's saying, about 19 year old Kingsman Sean Dawson. He was with, the Duke of Lancaster's Regiment - and he died in Helmand, on Sunday.

A man from Salford, who shot his girlfriend - has been jailed for at least 6 years. Alan Long did it in her house in Peel Green - in August last year. She was hit in the neck and the shoulder at point blank range - but she's since made a good recovery.
It's the funeral later of a woman who was knocked down by her own car near Wigan. 42 year old Lynda Hankey was killed trying to stop her MG being stolen from outside her house in Worseley Mains. A 23 year old man's charged with her murder - the service is at St James' Church in Poolstock later.
